MARIANA ISLANDS FISHING and SEAFOOD FESTIVAL

A 26 hour fishing bonanza with 23 hours of fishing in 5 categories: Spear Fishing; Deep Sea Trolling; Shallow Bottom/Shore Casting; Deep Bottom; and Talaya (throw net).  Each team can have up to four fishers and one of those team members MUST BE under 16 years old. There is something for everyone.  Fishing will be from 6 PM Friday until 5 PM Saturday, and entry is free.

Saturday will feature a Cooking Contest with amateur and professional chefs going head to head from 3PM to 7PM. There will be 3 cooking categories; Kelaguen; Poki; Open category.  Entry is free, and fish will be provided.

There will be a fishing clinic for fishers ages 16 and under, encouraging young people to enjoy the art of fishing. There will be games, art, music and many booths starting at 12 noon to provide non-stop entertainment.

This event will be held at Civic Center Beach Park and is put together by Indigenous Affairs Office, Carolinian Affairs and KKMP radio.
