Tinian

Just a Hop Away

Tinian is about 5 nautical miles southwest of Saipan, separated by the Saipan Channel. It has a land area of 39 square miles, with its highest elevation at Mount Lasso (561 ft).

The island has a variety of flora and fauna and limestone cliffs and caves. The endangered Tinian monarch is the island’s only endemic bird species. There is a variety of marine life and coral reefs surrounding the island.

Rich Historic Sites

See pre-historic remains of ancient indigenous Chamorro culture, including the ruins of the largest standing latte stones in The Marianas at the House of Taga, one of many sites in The Marianas on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. World War II relics abound, including the Atomic Bomb Pits used to load the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. During WWII, Tinian had the busiest airport in the world, and today you can still drive those extensive runways that played a pivotal role in ending the deadliest war known to mankind.
