How to get here

Saipan, the largest island in The Marianas, is easily accessible via direct flights from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Guam. Visitors can enjoy seamless travel to this tropical paradise. Additionally, daily flights from Guam make it a convenient connection.

Beyond its international connections, Saipan offers daily inter-island flights to Tinian and Rota, making it an ideal hub for island-hopping. These short flights allow tourists to explore Tinian’s historical sites and serene beaches and Rota’s unspoiled natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere.

Traveler Information

Before traveling to the CNMI, we recommend reviewing all visa and entry requirements to ensure a smooth process. Here are some helpful links to assist you in preparing for your trip.

1. G-CNMI ETA Visa Waiver Program

The G-CNMI ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) Visa Waiver Program allows eligible travelers to visit the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) without a visa. Travelers need a valid passport from an eligible country and must complete the online ETA application before their trip. Check the latest entry requirements and apply for the ETA in advance to enjoy a smooth travel experience.

2. Customs Declaration Form

The Online CNMI Customs Declaration Form allows travelers to declare their goods and personal items before entering the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Complete the form online prior to arrival to streamline your customs process and ensure compliance with CNMI regulations.

3. ESTA Information for Travel to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands

Travelers planning to visit the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), should be aware of the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) requirement. ESTA is an automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). As the CNMI is a U.S. territory, travelers who meet the criteria for the Visa Waiver Program will need to apply for ESTA approval prior to their departure. The ESTA authorization is valid for stays of up to 90 days for tourism, business, or transit purposes.

Visitor Safety

Sun, Swimming, and Safety

These helpful tips will keep you safe and let you fully enjoy everything The Marianas has to offer! To protect your valuables, avoid leaving personal items unattended in public areas.

Wear A Hat

A wide brim hat offers good sun protection for your eyes, ears, face, neck – areas that are particularly prone to overexposure to the sun.

Wear Protective Clothing

Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing as much as possible. Tightly woven cloth is best, but any clothing is better than none at all.

Use Sunscreen

Apply, at minimum, SPF 15+ broad spectrum sunscreen to all exposed areas of the skin. Reapplied liberally every two hours.

Wear Sunglasses

Be sure your sunglasses protect against UVA & UVB radiation. Wraparound sunglasses are best to protect your eyes from all angles.

Know How To Swim

Swimming in the ocean can be a challenge, so be sure you know how to swim in the surf. If you are swimming at a lifeguard-protected beach, obey all instructions from lifeguards, and stay within the designated swimming area.

Stay Alert

Check the local weather conditions and stay alert. Swim sober and never swim alone. And even if you’re confident in your swimming skills, make sure you have enough energy to swim back to shore.

Wear A Life Jacket

Young children and inexperienced swimmers should wear approved life jackets in and around the water. No one should use any other type of floatation device unless they are able to swim.

Pay Attention

Pay close attention to children and elderly persons when at the beach. Even in shallow water, waves and tides can cause a loss of footing.

Check Conditions

When at the beach, check conditions before entering the water. Check to see if any warning signs are up or ask a lifeguard about water conditions, beach conditions, or any potential hazards.
