As The Marianas slowly regains visitors, the Marianas Visitors Authority (MVA) is working with the CNMI COVID-19 Task force and other governmental partners to implement effective safety protocols across the tourism industry. Our goal is to achieve recovery of the tourism industry in a manner that is safe, gradual, and sustainable, providing a meaningful experience for our visitors and sustainable economic growth for our community.
The Safe Travels Marianas program is aligned with the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels Program that identifies common standards to ensure the safety of workforce and travelers as the travel sector shifts to a new normal.
Please note that while the protocols take into account current WHO and CDC guidelines, they are living documents which we will update as new information becomes available about COVID-19.
The Marianas Visitors Authority (MVA) has registered with the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) to become the lead agency with authority to issue tourism businesses with the ‘Safe Travels’ Stamp to help ensure the safety of The Marianas community while simultaneously supporting our tourism industry in making a robust recovery.
As part of the Safe Travels Marianas program, the Marianas Visitors Authority, under guidance from the CNMI COVID-19 Task Force, requires all employees of your establishment to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This requirement is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our visitors and community.
“Fully vaccinated” is defined as two weeks after completing the second dose of a two-dose vaccine or two weeks after receiving a single dose of a one-dose vaccine.
Once your establishment has passed inspection, we will email a vaccination verification form that must be signed and include the complete employee listing of your company. This is the final requirement of the Safe Travels Marianas program.
