Get out and about in the Northern Marianas with a wide variety of activities throughout the year.
Located on Saipan's eastern coast, Laolao offers easy shore entries to a spectacular dive site. This is the perfect spot to photograph turtles, as a number of them are regulars at the site and pay hardly any attention to the divers around them. Make your way along the outer reef over colorful coral outcroppings, numerous swim-throughs and crevices. Parrotfish, lionfish, unicorn fish, wrasse, cuttlefish, octopi, nudibranchs, and eagle rays are all common here. A number of Japanese administration period landmarks, including old pipes laid for some distance at the bottom and pieces of railroad track aide divers new to the site with their bearings.
The easy shore entry makes Laolao one of Saipan’s most popular dive sites. Currents on your exit can be strong at times, but permanent ropes make your return even on rough days fairly easy. Dive boots are a must, as you must walk across shallow inner reef to reach the entry points.
